With the cancellation of the Imola Grand Prix, Formula 1 drivers have a free weekend. Immediately after the race in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna was cancelled, voices on social media were already calling for a virtual Grand Prix, in which F1 drivers would compete. This would raise money for the victims of the servere floods. There is a first indication that that race might actually happen.

Team Redline, to which Max Verstappen is affiliated, sent a mysterious Tweet into the world on Thursday afternoon. Besides an Italian flag, it showed a game console, plus thus text: 'Stay tuned'.

When asked by GPblog if there will indeed be a virtual Grand Prix in Imola, Team Redline responded evasively. "Keep an eye on the socials," is all a representative of the esports team let out. It added that only during the course of tomorrow will things be revealed.
