Formula 1 has grown tremendously in recent years. The premier motorsport class has especially made inroads in America, along with other parts of the world too. Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner also sees that F1 is doing well.

In late 2016, the deal was in place for Liberty Media to take ownership of Formula 1, with the US company buying the sport for around $4.6 billion. It all started somewhat awkwardly for the US company. The rule changes in 2017 did F1 little good, and tracking other cars became more difficult due to these regulations, making for less spectacle racing. But from 2021, F1 suddenly grew very fast.

Formula 1 grew so incredibly fast partly because of the successful Netflix series, Drive to Survive. There was also an exciting title race again in 2021 after years, which did the class a lot of good. Horner sees Formula 1's popularity growing and says he is happy with its current owners.

"Formula One is in fantastic health at the moment. You can see Formula One is flying. I think Liberty have done a great job with the sport. For the future, we want to develop the sport to just continue to make the sport better, more appealing and more inclusive over the coming years." said the Red Bull team boss at the press conference in Miami.
