Max Verstappen's headrest problems have not yet been fixed. The Dutchman ran into the problem several times during free practice in Miami, which Helmut Marko says is not so easy to solve.

Verstappen is the clear-cut favourite for pole position for the Miami Grand Prix after setting the best time in both the second and third free practice sessions. However, not everything has gone according to plan so far for the Dutchman. On Friday, for instance, he complained several times about a problem with his headrest, which did not seem to be fixed by the third free practice on Saturday.

Marko on problem with headrest Verstappen

Speaking to ORF, Marko explained the persistent problem prior to FP3. "We used a new headrest. A cable, which among other things also feeds the camera, got jammed in certain situations," the Red Bull advisor stated. As it was a relatively thick cable, Verstappen got stuck with his head.

Red Bull tried to fix the problem, but during the third free practice session it could be seen looking at the headrest again in the presence of Adrian Newey. "You have to see if you can get some flexibility or more clearance in the cable routing," Marko said, before adding he expects the problem to be solved on Saturday. Whether the problem has been fixed remains to be seen, but the fact that Verstappen was no longer heard about it may be a good sign for the Austrian racing team.
