Charles Leclerc is increasingly being linked with a move to Mercedes. The Monegasque is said to be dissatisfied with how things are going at Ferrari now. Ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend, Leclerc dismissed those reports as nonsense.

Leclerc revealed to ESPN and others that he has not spoken to Mercedes. "No, not yet. Not for the moment. For now, I am fully focused on the project I am in today, which is Ferrari and I fully trust and am confident for the future. Then we will see, but I am fully confident for the project of Ferrari."

The 25-year-old driver is still with Ferrari until 2024, whereas Hamilton's contract expires after this season. The British driver looks set to add another year, but talks with Mercedes have not yet been finalised. At the earliest, Leclerc looks set to make the switch in 2025, if he wanted to.

No talks with Wolff

But so he is not thinking about that at the moment. Nor has he tapped in with Toto Wolff. Asked about a meeting between the two, Leclerc is very resolute: "No. Zero. Zero. Really zero. You all smile because you don't believe me, but I promise."

Lewis Hamilton was asked in the press conference about the stories circulating about Leclerc and Mercedes. The seven-time world champion commented that those rumours have no bearing on his negotiations with his German employer.
