There are still some seasons to go, but already Carlos Sainz is being linked with a switch to Audi in 2026. The Ferrari driver is said to be at the top of the wish list of Andreas Seidl, who is currently in charge of the Audi F1 project.

Swiss Blick wrote about the rumour last week: according to the newspaper, the Spaniard is the main candidate to take a seat in one of the Audi cockpits during the German car brand's first season in F1 soon. Blick is known to be well-informed, but according to Sainz, there is no truth to the story at all.

'Many more years at Ferrari'

Speaking at a sponsor meeting, Sainz addressed the rumour. "My intention is to stay at Ferrari for many years. I don't understand why they are talking about 2026, when at the moment I don't even have a contract for 2025. It irritates me that these totally fabricated rumours are coming out."

Of course, there is a slight nuance to be made: While Sainz may have the intention to stay longer at Ferrari, the question is whether the Italian team has ears for it. Moreover, the reporting came from a Swiss newspaper, which strongly suggests that the news comes straight from the Hinwill factory.
