Perez will talk to Red Bull about fastest lap for Verstappen

Sergio Perez crossed the line first, but it was not enough to take over the lead in the world championship. Indeed, Max Verstappen threw a spanner in the works by grabbing the fastest race lap. Perez will still talk to Red Bull to clear some things up, though.
"I was expecting more dominant but the safety car made it a lot harder for me. It brought Max into the race," Perez told Viaplay. In the last 25 laps, the two Red Bull drivers were evenly matched. It was a game of tenths, sometimes Verstappen was a bit faster, then Perez countered and it continued like that.
The Mexican continued: "Then in the last stint we were pushing each other one tenth faster, one tenth faster between each other. We were pushing each other a lot. It was nice."
Perez seemed to take over the lead in the World Championship from Verstappen until the 50th and final lap, but it was his teammate who ended up taking the extra point for the championship. With that, he does not look very happy, as he himself had been given information that he was not allowed to push any more. However, his answer is politically correct: "I don't have enough information at the moment, I was told not to push at the end. Something we will review with the team," Perez added.
