Jeremy Clarkson: 'Max is going to win this, let's face it'

Jeremy Clarkson attended the Bahrain Grand Prix and gave his opinion on the current state of Formula 1. Speaking to Sky Sports reporter Martin Brundle, Clarkson also addressed who his favourites on the grid are.
Prior to a Grand Prix, celebrities can regularly be found on the track to watch the spectacle of the race. Often, these celebrities are mainly there for the event and don't have much substantive to say about the race. Things are a bit different with Clarkson: the Brit has been making TV programmes about cars and racing since 1988.
Clarkson therefore does not mince his words when Martin Brundle asks him for his opinion on the sport. "It's the first Formula 1 race I’ve been to in years," the presenter admitted. "It's just so fantastic to be back. I adore Formula 1. It was infuriating for years and years and years, and now it’s back because they can follow one another and the aerodynamics are so much better."

Clarkson was also asked if he had a favourite team on the track. "It's not like football, you don't have a team," Clarkson stated. "But I like Alfa Romeo’s, always have done. Alpine are my local team [because of the HQ in Enstone], so I root for them a little bit. I’m friends with a bunch of people at Red Bull." When Brundle asked him who he expected to win the race, Clarkson proved to have good predictive powers. "Max is going to win the race. Who will be second, that's the thing."
