The three F1 winter test days are over and on the lists Red Bull Racing comes out strongest. Sergio Perez recorded the fastest time of the tests and is looking forward to a strong start to the season.

At first glance, Perez and Max Verstappen's team again seems to be the team most likely to claim the title in 2023. Verstappen won the drivers' title the past two years and last year Red Bull also clinched the constructors' title. The start of 2022 was not flawless for Red Bull for reliability reasons. Perez is hoping for a better start.

Verstappen and Perez ask the same of BR19

Speaking to F1.com, the Mexican looked back on the preparations: "We [Perez and Verstappen] were aiming for the same things. We want the same things at the moment. The team has done a tremendous job in Milton Keynes last winter." Perez is happy with the speed of the car, but is yet to comment on the relations between Red Bull and the rival teams.

Perez does compare the 2023 tests with last year: "You can clearly see the improvement. Normally In the second year, you generally see that a lot on the drivability side. It was the same for us." Finally, Checo calls the first weekend an exciting time: "It would be great to start this season much stronger than last year."
