Sauber Academy has presented its drivers for 2023. Sauber's training programme currently employs four drivers. In a press release, the Swiss company announces which four they are.

Old friend Théo Pourchaire will stay on as Sauber Junior again this year. The Frenchman has now been with the training team for four years, since his debut in ADAC Formula 4 in 2019. Since then, Pourchaire has moved up to Formula 2, where he finished second in the championship last year. Last year, Pourchaire was already a reserve driver at Alfa Romeo - a role he will reprise in 2023 - and competed for the team in the first free practice at the United States Grand Prix. Pourchaire will drive for ART in Formula 2 this year.

Three new names in the academy

New additions to the list are Lena Bühler, Marcus Amand and Taym Saleh. Bühler will compete this year in the newly created competition F1 Academy. After ten years in BMX, the Swiss made the switch to karting in 2017. Since then, she has been active in several competitions, albeit without too much success.

French-Finnish Amand will compete in the Formula Regional European Championship in 2023, having previously raced in ADAC Formula 4 and Italian Formula 4. German Saleh will drive for the Sauber Karting Team in the CIK-OK championship next season.
