Mercedes unveils W14
After Ferrari pulled the curtain off the SF-23 in Maranello on Valentine's Day, a day later it was Mercedes' turn to unveil the W14. The German racing stable has tinkered heavily over the winter period in the hope of producing a more competitive car than the W13, which Lewis Hamilton and Toto Wolff referred to as a "nightmare" and a "sh**box" respectively.
The successor to the problematic 2022 car was unveiled on Wednesday in the presence of Hamilton, Wolff, George Russell and brand-new reserve driver Mick Schumacher.

No paint
Like a number of other teams - such as Haas - Mercedes has not painted parts of their car to save weight. Paint means weight and that is extra ballast, making the car slower than desired. At first glance, only the front wing appears to have been painted. The remaining black on the body of the car resembles the colour of the carbon.
