Valtteri Bottas may not have left Mercedes of his own accord, but he has flourished in his new role at Alfa Romeo. The Finnish driver now has a team around him that really listens to him and for which his feedback has great value. He is more involved than ever in the development of a Formula 1 car, he tells us at the launch of the C43.

Bottas describes his first season with his new team as an interesting year in which he was treated differently from his previous teams. "I think my role has been different to what I've ever had in F1. A bit more involvement and information going through me. The work started early last year together. I tried to give all my experience and technical knowledge I could from the past," explained the Alfa Romeo driver.

That work continues unabated. "Whether it's an issue with the car balance or whatever, we are always feeding back the best we can. When I am at the factory, I like to get updates on how things are going. If I ever have any ideas and questions then I ask and we speak," the 33-year-old Finn continued.

The 10-time Grand Prix winner thrives on his strong commitment to the team, which finished sixth among constructors in 2022. "I love to know as much as I can all the details. The set-up direction, the development of the car balance has been going into the right direction. We keep working hard," Bottas said.
