Sergio Perez looks back on last season with mixed feelings, as he explained on Red Bull Racing's official website. The Mexican did not manage to make things difficult for teammate Max Verstappen and the driver is very disappointed about that.

In the first half of the season, Perez managed to stay close to the Dutchman in the World Championship. However, once Verstappen got up to speed, he soon had to settle for a battle for second place that he had with Charles Leclerc.

In the end, he also failed to take second place on the grid. The two drivers were on an equal number of points prior to the final race weekend in Abu Dhabi, after which Perez could not manage to finish ahead of Leclerc.

While he does not want to leave the season feeling dissatisfied, he's relatively pleased with his campaign. "I would say overall it was a good season," Perez analysed. "If I look at the season as a whole, I felt we lacked some consistency to compete in the title race. But overall, the team did a decent job."
