Williams and Capito part ways with immediate effect

Williams is saying goodbye to both Jost Capito and François-Xavier Demaison, it said in an official press release. It means the British formation will have to search for both a new team boss and technical director in the coming months.
The team experienced a difficult season, failing to convince Alexander Albon and Nicholas Latifi. The Thai finished with four points gained, while Latifi did not go beyond two points. Whether the results contributed to the decision, however, Williams does not disclose.
"We would like to thank Jost for his hard work and dedication as we embarked on a major transformation process to begin the journey of reviving Williams Racing," Matthew Savage, chairman of Dorilton Capital, told us.
"We’re grateful that Jost postponed his planned retirement to take on this challenge and now he will pass the reins on for the next part of this staged process. We would also like to thank FX for his contribution and wish him all the best for his future as he moves on."
Capito grateful for Williams challenge
Capito in turn thanks Williams for the opportunity. "It has been a huge privilege to lead Williams Racing for the last two seasons and to lay the foundations for the turnaround of this great team. I look forward to watching the team as it continues on its path to future success."
