Ferrari is making the necessary changes this winter in the hope of competing for the world title next season. Nico Rosberg, however, has a hard head on it. The former Formula 1 driver believes that the search for a new team boss will be especially difficult.

After the departure of Mattia Binotto, things are quiet at Ferrari for now. The team seems to be opting for Frederic Vasseur, who reportedly already signed a pre-contract last summer, but according to Rosberg, it does not mean things will immediately improve at the Italians.

"I see a lot of chagrin there," states the German in conversation with Sport1. "It is incredibly difficult to fill this position, especially when I see what Toto Wolff is doing at Mercedes. For me, he is the best team manager and certainly one of the best of all time. To find such competence for Ferrari, there is no such thing."

Rosberg gives opinion on Ferrari

Rosberg additionally questions whether Binotto was actually the team's problem. Ferrari went wrong on several occasions this race year in the title battle with Red Bull Racing, with strategic, technical, and personal errors on display.

"They just messed up last season. They did not develop as well as other teams, like Red Bull," said Rosberg, who is curious to see what Binotto's successor will manage. However, he stresses that ideal solutions do not exist.
