Sebastian Vettel achieved the greatest success of his Formula 1 career with Red Bull Racing, the team with which he became a four-time world champion. Like Max Verstappen, Helmut Marko was also instrumental in Vettel's career, according to the German.

Vettel stressed that Marko had a big role to play in his success from the start, calling the Austrian of "elementary" importance. "It was not always easy, but it is not Helmut's job to always make things easy and only say good things," Vettel explains according to Formel1.de.

Vettel reminisces

At the same time, he said he maintained a very good relationship with the Red Bull advisor, a bond that still exists today and is "very honest and sincere" according to Vettel. The four-time world champion appreciated that Marko was always honest when he did something wrong and says he learned a lot from that.

He also has many fond memories of his time at Red Bull and says he and the team have grown up together. Vettel thinks back to a "very nice time with a lot of great memories", which are resurfacing in view of his retirement from F1.

As far as Marko is concerned, Vettel still has a future at Red Bull Racing, which brings a smile to the German's face. "With Helmut, things always go on. That's why I'm happy that in a way he can revive the good times, but with just a different story," Vettel concludes, referring to Verstappen's current success.
