Sergio Perez, like teammate Max Verstappen, left feeling positive about the Pirelli tyre test in Abu Dhabi. Both drivers were able to fully complete Red Bull Racing's planned programme, gathering a lot of data for the development of the 2023 car.

Perez satisfied after F1 test

"I think we have had a good morning overall and have plenty of information to give to the team and the engineers, so I am pleased with the work we have done" Perez explained in a Red Bull Racing press release. "The new compounds still tend to be quite close, as they were this season, but the front is a little bit stronger than the 2022 versions."

However, the Mexican also knows that it is still very early to draw conclusions. "We are working with the tyres in very hot conditions here and everything is still early days, so we still have a lot to learn and analyse," he continues. Perez also stressed that the cooler conditions are more representative of the temperatures in the race at the Yas Marina Circuit.

The Red Bull Racing drivers will enter the winter break after the test in Abu Dhabi. They will go to enjoy a well-deserved holiday, but hard work will be done at the factory in Milton Keynes ahead of the 2023 Formula 1 season.
