Sergio Perez did not seem too disappointed about missing out on spot two in the championship. The Mexican ended up one-and-a-half seconds short of attacking Charles Leclerc. The latter finished second in the Grand Prix and thus the championship.

Afterwards, on the grid, he said, "It is how it is. Sometimes everything can be really close and at the end of the day I have to be happy and as a team we gave it our all through the season. I am sure we will come back stronger," Perez said.

Tyres

Looking back, Perez felt it was a great season. He won in Monaco and Singapore. "Certainly, we had great moments, battling and I think I struggled with these tyres in terms of managing the tyres in the race. So, hopefully that can be something that we can improve for next year."
