Verstappen had multiple problems in Q3: 'When it comes down to it, he delivers'

Red Bull Racing will be satisfied after qualifying for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The team has both drivers on the front row of the grid for the first time since Mexico 2018. Verstappen faced several problems during qualifying, but Helmut Marko says the Dutchman always delivers when it matters.
Verstappen entered the track for his first run during Q3 later than planned due to a technical problem. His car failed, requiring the entire system to be restarted. Sergio Perez therefore did not get a slipstream from his teammate at the start of Q3.
"The dashboard failed twice," Marko explained to ServusTV. Perez apparently had a similar problem during the Mexican Grand Prix, causing the Red Bull driver to miss important information on brake balance and delta times.
Verstappen had several problems
For Verstappen, however, it was not a major problem. "He was not bothered by it. Then there was also a small problem with the front wing, but when it comes down to it, he delivers," said the Austrian. In the closing stages of Q3, Verstappen did manage to give his teammate a slipstream. As a result, the drivers are together on the front row of the grid on Sunday. The Dutchman could therefore help Perez secure second place in the drivers' championship this weekend.
