It wasn't the greatest qualifying for the honorary Brazillian as Lewis Hamilton can only muster an eight for the sprint race tomorrow, as he'll look to recreate his heroics from the 2021 Brazillian sprint race.

The seven-time world champion spoke to Sky after Friday's proceedings and initially said this in reference to his final lap on intermediates towards the end of Q3 "I went out just to see what the conditions were like but obviously it was properly wet.", The Briton would go on to explain a few reasons behind his disappointing eighth place finish, "It was difficult to see the conditions and it was difficult to see the rain drops, it was so dark. I was the last car out.".

Hamilton also believes he was the first driver heavily affected by the incoming rain, but makes sure to end the interview on a high note with "George did a great job as well, and congratulations to Kevin."
