Hamilton: "The car has been feeling great"
Lewis Hamilton managed to equal his best qualifying position of 3rd in Mexico this afternoon. Hamilton unlike his teammate was overjoyed with not only his finish but the work from the everyone involved.
"There are positives from today. For us to be 2nd and 3rd is amazing. The car has been feeling great", he told Sky Sports. "To be that close is amazing and everyone in the factory should be proud," he continued. But while Hamilton can bask in Mercedes' pace this weekend he remains realistic about the rest of the season and the fight with Red Bull.
"It looks really great, but I think it suits us well (the track)", he said to ViaPlay. "It won't be the same in Abu Dhabi and Brazil. Fingers crossed, we can continue to fight these guys. For now, we have to give everything. They are so fast in a straight line."
Looking ahead
With the race tomorrow, Hamilton along with the rest of the top order will need to think through the infamous turn 1, where only last year he was caught napping off the start by Max Verstappen. But he knows, with the pace they showed across FP3 and qualifying, there is every chance he could take the victory.
