While usually Ferrari and Charles Leclerc are right at the top of the showdown for pole on a Saturday, this time round P7 was all Leclerc could manage. It seemed from the get go that their outright speed issues in FP3 hampered them once again in qualifying.

    Problems

"We need to look into it. I've been losing quite a lot of time down the straights since qualifying, and FP3 was not great. We need to look into it. We had quite a lot of problems with the engines today. We need to look into that," Leclerc told Sky Sports

Whilst the championship is over on both fronts, Ferrari will want to fix any potential issues they have in order to hold of the charging silver arrows who sit just behind them in the constructors' table. Leclerc should have enough opportunities in the race to climb up the order and maybe even push for a podium, tomorrow.

This is one of the first times in the 2022 Formula 1 season that Ferrari haven't been close to P1 on a Saturday. If the championship was a qualifying championship, Leclerc would have the advantage.
