Jonathan Wheatley is thrilled that Red Bull Racing was able to clinch the constructors' title with such a fine win for Max Verstappen. The sporting director of the Austrian racing team cannot believe his luck.

"It's hard to put it into words to be honest," Wheatley told Viaplay's camera. Of course, it has everything to do with the death of Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz. "Mixed feelings at the moment. Fantastic. We'll celebrate as Dietrich would want. Just the most incredible way. We did it the hard way, he likes it that way as well."

Verstappen phenomenal again

After a pit stop of more than 11 seconds, Verstappen may have seemed momentarily hopeless for victory, but the Dutchman showed what we have seen so many times from him in 2022. "Max's performance today was off the scales, couldn't have been happier. It's been fantastic, it's not over. Another three races to go, we're ambitious."

The RB18 is Red Bull's most successful car ever. Verstappen currently stands on 13 F1 victories this year, a record he shares with Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel. At Red Bull, however, they are determined to move towards even more wins.
