The US Grand Prix has yet to be held, but Sergio Perez is already looking ahead to next week. That the Mexican will drive in his home country. Winning there is Perez's ultimate dream.
There are also many compatriots in the stands in Texas this weekend, as Mexico is not that far away. The fans are unlucky that Perez is having an PU change this weekend, forcing him to go five spots back on the grid. Still, the Red Bull Racing driver is hopeful there can be a fine result in America. But there is the bigger goal. This is probably another reason why he is opting for an engine change in Austin.

Perez, with his Red Bull, is obviously a favourite for Mexico. Only then he will have to deal with teammate Max Verstappen. "Nothing is better than winning a Grand Prix in your own country," said Perez to the NOS. "I experienced in Zandvoort what that brings. I want to experience that too, but it won't be easy. The pressure is huge and the crowd almost demands that you win. But Max will surely try to help me (win) if the opportunity presents itself. I have no doubt he will support me."
Verstappen, however, is not known as someone who gives presents. The Dutchman is already world champion, but wants to win all the last races of the season. According to Verstappen, the most important thing is for Perez to finish ahead of Charles Leclerc to take second place in the championship. So handing Perez the win in Mexico? "If I drive first on the last lap and he second? Then I will win the race. And then he finishes ahead of Leclerc anyway," said Verstappen.
