Haas will hold a special press conference with the media over the weekend before the US Grand Prix. It is not known what the team will announce. Haas has still not decided who will be Kevin Magnussen's teammate in 2023.

The Haas team will address the media ahead of the US GP. The press conference is scheduled on Thursday 20 October at 12:00 local time (18:00 UK time) and will be held at the circuit's media centre.

It is not known who will participate in the press conference, but there is certainly a chance that Haas will announce who will be Magnussen's teammate in 2023. The team has been shouting for months that there is no rush to make a decision. Talks with Mick Schumacher are said to have started recently, but the team is also said to be interested in Nico Hulkenberg. Daniel Ricciardo does not seem to be an option, as the Australian has already indicated himself that he will not be seen in Formula 1 in 2023.

New sponsorship deal or driver announcement?

Schumacher has to fight hard for his seat at Haas. The team is reportedly not entirely satisfied with the German's results. Team boss Guenther Steiner is looking for an experienced driver, a requirement that Hulkenberg certainly meets. Haas would like to make a decision on Magnussen's teammate by the end of October. It is also possible that a new sponsorship deal will be announced at the American team's home circuit.

Update

Journalist Tobi Grüner of Auto, Motor und Sport reports on Twitter that Haas - according to their information - will not announce a second driver in Austin. Mick Schumacher, fellow countryman of Grüner, will probably have to wait longer to see if he keeps his seat next to Kevin Magnussen.
