The FIA has delayed the announcement of the investigation into Red Bull Racing's finances (and thus those of all Formula 1 teams) until Monday. This is much to the displeasure of Mattia Binotto, who says he is "pessimistic" about the outcome.

The reason for the postponement is unknown, but according to Daily Mail, which predicted a possible postponement, it would be because the FIA does not want a deadline imposed on it by the teams. Binotto fears the delayed announcement is not a good sign and calls for transparency. "The decision has been postponed, so there are discussions & points that are not clear. FIA is disputing, the team is defending," the Ferrari team boss told the Italian edition of Sky Sports.

Binotto, who is spending Japan's Grand Prix weekend in Maranello, says he is "pessimistic" about the outcome of the investigation. "The important thing is that if something has been granted it is transparent, so that everyone can understand the regulations. There is no need to change them, even if it was the first year. I am a bit pessimistic, it could all melt away like snow in the sun, but clarity and transparency will be important," the Italian stressed again.
