The chances of rain seem to be increasing in Singapore. After Friday was warm and dry, rain has now really arrived at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

Torrential rain reaches Singapore

A rainy race in Singapore is something we don't often see, but it looks like it has a good chance of happening again in 2022. A storm made landfall on Saturday and, according to journalists present, it does not look like the storm will leave before the third free practice session.

"Huge downpours in Singapore at the moment, and forecasts indicate there is a good chance it will still be wet for FP3," wrote F1 journalist Adam Cooper on his Twitter channel. The teams themselves are also jumping on the downpours, showing videos of the current weather.

Marina Bay stays wet for long time

Marina Bay does not dry up quickly after it rains in the afternoon. This is mainly due to the fact that it is a night race. When qualifying and the race start, at 20:00 local time, the sun has long since disappeared and thus the warm rays of the sun cannot make the track dry faster.
