Two-time world champion Fernando Alonso will most likely soon be able to share this title with Max Verstappen who is also heading for his second F1 title. For Verstappen, the Spaniard hopes he can continue his performance.

The Alpine driver sees similarities between himself and Verstappen. Both won a world title at a young age and now it looks like they will both be two-time world champions. With Alonso, it stopped after his two titles at a young age, for Verstappen that need not be the case. At the press moment ahead of the Singapore GP, Alonso says to Formula1.nl: "I do hope he will be luckier than me when he is 26. I was world champion twice at 26 and still have the same stats at forty."

Alonso expects more than two titles for Verstappen

Alonso predicts things will be different for Verstappen. The Spaniard looks at Red Bull Racing's performance and how Verstappen's future is set up at the team. Alonso: "This title is just deserved. Red Bull was the best and they have the best driver. This second title already makes him one of the greats."

Like Lando Norris, Alonso sees that Verstappen's talent is evident at the start of each weekend. Indeed, Verstappen shows inexplicable speed from the first moment he takes to the track in a GP weekend. Alonso: "On Friday, he will again be 2.5 seconds faster than the rest in the first five minutes. Only in qualifying will they come close to him again."
