Former Ferrari driver: 'Binotto can look for reinforcements for the future'

Jean Alesi still has faith in the Ferrari team. The Italian team is far behind in the Constructors' Championship, and also Charles Leclerc has no chance against Max Verstappen in the battle for the world title. However, the former Ferrari driver expected more from the team in Monza.
"I believed Leclerc could win at Monza after that crazy lap in qualifying. That was not the case and there are some kind thoughts I want to pass on to Mattia Binotto. I admire his sincerity, because like a true leader he protects his men", Alesi begins in his column for Corriere della Sera.
The team started the season strongly, but more and more mistakes followed. Not only the strategy went wrong, also the reliability of the Ferrari engine was not up to standard. The gap to Red Bull Racing therefore only increased.
Alesi gives Binotto feedback
"As a fan, I am also convinced that Binotto can look for some reinforcements for the future. In terms of strategy, where perhaps a more aggressive approach would be useful and in terms of understanding set-ups more quickly, something Red Bull seem to be doing better", Alesi continues.
Despite the team's many failings, Alesi remains confident in Ferrari. The Frenchman is convinced that the reliability problems will be solved and that Ferrari will drive with a strong power unit in the future. Alesi believes there are only a few adjustments missing to get the most out of the car.
