Nyck de Vries has caused quite a stir in motor sport. Austrian racing driver Philipp Eng also waxes lyrical about the Dutchman after his performance at the Italian Grand Prix.

After Max Verstappen, a second Dutchman seems to be on his way to F1. The name of De Vries has been around in F1 for quite some time, but after his debut as a substitute for Alexander Albon, he has become a household name. It is now more a question of who will drive for De Vries in 2023, as Alpine and Williams are said to be interested in him.

Choice of Williams

''It was madness. You can't take your hat off enough. It was a completely different car, you have to see it that way. You can't move from one car to another and everything feels natural. It's a different seating positions and more. De Vries was completely thrown in at the deep end. The fact that he can then score two points is a terrific achievement'', said the Austrian in the Sport & Talk programme of ServusTV.

His performance also saw him outperform Nicholas Latifi and Eng believes this should be a clear signal to the team's management. ''If I were the team boss, I would put him in the car right away. It's not good for Nicolas Latifi either'', concludes Eng.

For the rest of the Formula 1 season, six races remain on the calendar. After the two-week break there are three more Double Headers. First to Singapore and Japan, then to America and Mexico and finally to Brazil and Abu Dhabi.
