Red Bull particularly fast in pit lane again
- GPblog.com
Red Bull set the fastest time in the pit lane with Sergio Perez's tyre change during the race of the Grand Prix weekend in Italy. Red Bull were the fastest this weekend, but Ferrari were not far behind the championship leaders.
In second and third place of the fastest pit stops are the tyre changes of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. With Leclerc, Ferrari fell a tenth short of Red Bull's speed. One-tenth is just a blink of an eye, but when it comes to pit times, the difference is easily more than five per cent. Red Bull changed the Mexican's tyres in 2.1 seconds. Ferrari changed Leclerc's in 2.21 seconds and Sainz's in 2.39 seconds.
No record for Red Bull
Red Bull was one hundredth slower this weekend than it was last week in Zandvoort at Max Verstappen's tyre change. There the team set the record time of the season with a change of 2.09 seconds. This weekend, Verstappen's tyre change was good for the fourth time of the race with a 2.48. The usually pit-strong Williams and McLaren are only lower down in the top ten. Williams changed Nicholas Latifi 's tyres in 2.82 seconds, which puts them on P8. McLaren is on P10 with a tyre change of 3.04 seconds for Lando Norris.
It’s a double for @SChecoPerez: He didn’t just grab an extra point for the #DHLFastestLap, but also takes home the #DHLFastestPitStop with a standing time of 2.10 seconds. #DHLF1 #F1 pic.twitter.com/PW7aUPIXQk
