Verstappen confident: "If we are faster we will overtake them anyway"

Max Verstappen is one of the many drivers who will receive a grid penalty in the Italian Grand Prix, but there is still much uncertainty about which starting position it will eventually be. Verstappen himself is assuming P7. Whatever the case, the Dutchman is very confident in his car for the race and believes that things will work out in that area.
Verstappen is not really disappointed with missing out on pole. "I think it was just not there," the Red Bull Racing driver begins his story at Viaplay. "I think they were just a bit too fast over a lap, and especially in the first sector we lost quite a bit of time. So in itself I'm not dissatisfied. Also the balance of the car for tomorrow looks pretty good."
Verstappen expects to start from P7
There is much uncertainty about how all the grid penalties will be handed out and in what order. According to most estimations Verstappen will start from P4, but he himself thinks differently. "Seventh according to me," he answers when asked what place he will start from. "If you look at the rules, I think it should just be seventh."
Verstappen is confident in his car for the race and therefore has a clear goal for the start, no matter what position he will start from. "We just need to stay out of trouble at the start. If we have more speed, we'll catch up with them anyway," the championship leader concludes.
