Max Verstappen sees himself as a father in the future. The Dutchman has become even more relaxed after his world title and so he would have changed a lot on a personal level as well.

Two world titles for Verstappen

With a world title in his pocket and a second within reach, life is smiling on Verstappen. For years there was the pressure of wanting to achieve that ultimate dream and now that it has been achieved, Verstappen can really start enjoying himself. In conversation with Corriere della Sera Verstappen looks back at 2021, but he also looks ahead to the future.

The title has certainly changed his life according to Verstappen. ''On a personal level a lot. In terms of driving and competition I am now more relaxed. But my motivation to win has even increased because I want to keep feeling that feeling. Winning is never enough," says the Red Bull Racing driver.

According to Verstappen, the relaxed attitude has partly caused him to change his driving style. This is also due to the new cars. Whereas qualifying was essential in 2021, it is now more about the Sunday, because in 2022 you can overtake more easily with the new cars.

Max Verstappen as a dad

Now that Verstappen is getting a bit older, he is also looking at other things. Asked if he sees himself as a father, he sounds in agreement. ''Yes, I see myself as dad. One day. It's wonderful to have my sister's around: the older one runs everywhere, the other still nine months old. Victoria doesn't stand still for a second.''

Talking to an Italian medium, the question about Ferrari couldn't be left out either. Verstappen has been very positive about the team lately and says he has many friends at the Italian team. A switch is therefore not excluded. ''Never say never, but now I have a contract with Red Bull until 2028 . I'm fine here, let's see what happens after 2028. Maybe I'll have already retired," Verstappen concludes.
