During the Dutch Grand Prix weekend, rumours surfaced that Red Bull Racing may bring an update as early as next week during the Italian GP that would make the chassis four kilos lighter. Christian Horner was asked about the reports just before the race on Sunday.

Horner refutes rumours

If the weekend is at Monza, the update should come in early October when the Singapore Grand Prix is scheduled. The Red Bull Racing team boss cannot accept the stories that are currently circulating. "You have to know that you shouldn't believe everything you hear. There is nothing planned at short notice," Horner told Sky Sports.

Red Bull have been suffering from obesity all season. At the start of the year the RB18 was even heavier, but Helmut Marko recently revealed there are still around five kilos to be gained through updates to get close to the minimum required weight. The heavier the car, the slower the lap time, so an update of this magnitude would help Verstappen and Perez enormously.
