Leclerc misses out on pole but remains optimistic

3 September 2022 at 15:11

Leclerc put in what he thought was the lap of his season but he was pipped at the final hurdle by Max Verstappen. A 1:10.4 was a huge effort from the Ferarri driver but he commended Verstappen for his final run.

"Tomorrow is the race and we'll get it done", the words of a pumped-up Leclerc after narrowly missing out on pole to home favourite Max Verstappen.

"Yeah it was very very close, I mean Max did a great lap in the end and our car was getting better and better."

But despite losing out on his 8th pole of the season, Leclerc is still optimistic for the race tomorrow.

"We are much stronger here compared to last weekend so that's good to see. And for tomorrow I think our race pace looks quite strong its going to be close with the Red Bull but we just need to do a great tart and then we'll see.
