The pit stops of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez looked very 'clean' in the Belgian Grand Prix, but it proved not good enough for the fastest time of the day. That honour was reserved for the Alpine pit crew. It took them just 2.22 seconds to change Fernando Alonso's four tyres.

Red Bull came close to Alpine's time with its pitstops, but fell seven hundredths short. McLaren were again well placed in the Ardennes with a third place, thanks to a quick pit stop by Daniel Ricciardo.

Red Bull has won the standings in recent seasons and in 2022 it once again has the best chance of taking the overall win. After 14 Grands Prix, the Austrian formation stands at 347. Closest competitor McLaren has so far collected 288 points. The number three in the list is Ferrari with 170 points.
