Red Bull Racing had perhaps their best weekend of the year at Spa-Francorchamps. Max Verstappen took a dominant win despite a grid penalty and Sergio Perez joined his teammate on the podium. The Mexican also took over second place in the World Championship standings from Charles Leclerc.

Perez's focus seems to have shifted to winning the constructors' title. He had previously hoped to get back into the drivers' championship, but the gap to Verstappen is now almost impossible to bridge. "We will try to maximise," he said at the press conference about the rest of his season. "It's very important for us, the Constructors’ as well. I think right now we are in a great position, but things can change fairly quickly. So, as a team, we want to maximise everything we possibly can, every weekend."

Perez has work to do

Perez certainly has nothing to be ashamed of for his performance at the Belgian Grand Prix, but he did come up significantly short of his teammate. He explains that he is still not entirely comfortable in the car since the updates Red Bull applied in recent months and wants to work hard to adjust.

"It's something that I need to work on, on my side to make sure we are able to get the maximum out of the car. Because sometimes things become more natural for you to get the most out of your car. And sometimes you have to work really hard and go very deep in the analysis, to make sure you are able to extract the maximum," the Mexican explained. He hopes to find some speed and continue the strong line in the coming races.
