Max Verstappen's dominant win at Spa-Francorchamps exceeded even Red Bull Racing's wildest expectations. Sergio Perez completed the podium with second place, making Helmut Marko's day.

Marko says Red Bull themselves were amazed at the ease with which Verstappen pushed through the field by 1 to 1.5 seconds per lap. "It was a very easy drive for Max," the Austrian told ServusTV. "There is an ease with which he is performing like this at the moment, it is unbelievable. It's the combination of confidence and the incredible driving class of Max Verstappen."

Marko wants to go for P1 and P2 in World championship

Marko warns, however, that the battle is not yet over. "The goal now is mainly to finish first and second in the championship for the first time, we have never done that before." In that, there is also an important task for Perez, who took over second place in the championship from Charles Leclerc on Sunday. "Sergio drove a very solid race. He also took it easy and had everything under control," Marko praised the Mexican's performance.

Marko hopes his drivers can repeat the trick next week but insists this weekend everything came together perfectly. "Here everything fitted together perfectly," the Red Bull advisor jubilates. "Hopefully it will be the same at Zandvoort and Monza. It would be nice to win at home!"
