Sergio Perez could be satisfied after the Belgian Grand Prix. Max Verstappen was again too fast on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, but he also impressed with a second place. The Mexican was therefore satisfied with his race.
Having started from second place, he managed to get past Carlos Sainz during the course of the race. In the meantime, however, Verstappen was doing some brilliant overtaking and managed to pass Perez, finishing in second place.
"I really hoped for more, but Max was just flying and untouchable. The first stint was quit poor in terms of degradation but it was a strong result for the team. We gathered a lot of points for the team," he said.
Perez on difficult start
Perez got off to a difficult start in Belgium, as he himself also knows. "There was a bit of chaos at turn 1, I had a poor start and lost a few positions and got them back at turn 5. It was very hectic that turn 1 and a lot of contact."
