Leclerc worried about 'alien' Verstappen: 'Don't know why

Leclerc was again beaten by Max Verstappen. There was also another blunder on the part of his team. It probably would not have made a difference compared to Verstappen, the Monegasque himself stressed after the session.
Leclerc and Verstappen competed against each other for P15 during qualifying for the GP of Belgium. Verstappen's speed was otherworldly and the Dutchman did not even attempt his final run. Leclerc didn't come close and that was partly due to another blunder by the team that sent him out on the wrong set of tyres. Whether the blunder contributed to the loss is debatable.
Leclerc worried about Verstappen's speed
At Viaplay Leclerc says of the blunder: "I didn't expect it. We will talk about it internally. I just don't know if it will be completely open tomorrow. That pace [of Verstappen] is otherworldly." Speaking to Sky Sports, Leclerc also expressed concern: "The gap to Max is worrying. They are extremely fast and we can't explain why." The Monegasque concluded, "with a gap like this in qualifying, it would be strange to be as fast as them in the race."
