Is Ferrari missing a leader? Somebody has to say something about this
- GPblog.com
Marc Surer would like to fire all of Ferrari's strategists. The former F1 driver understands little of the anger within the Italian team.
Ferrari have made a mess of their strategic decisions this season. After thirteen races, the team is trailing in the drivers' and constructors' championship, even though it may have the fastest car. Although the drivers sometimes make mistakes and the engine also breaks down more than once, it is the strategy that is being looked at.
Mistakes by Ferrari
Indeed, not for the first time, Ferrari went wrong with strategy at the Hungarian Grand Prix. ''You can only shake your head that they make the wrong decision time after time. I would fire all the strategy people," Surer is harsh in his assessment in a video of Formel1.de.
Not only the mistakes, but also the lack of responsibility bothers the Swiss. Mattia Binotto invariably comes up with another excuse as to why things aren't so bad and Surer lacks a stern leader in this. ''Someone at the top has to say something. 'What are we actually doing? We have the fastest car?'" Surer concludes.
