Schumacher doesn't see Piastri at Alpine: 'I expect to see him at McLaren'

With the announcement that Fernando Alonso is moving to Aston Martin, Alpine's Oscar Piastri seems a certainty. Ralf Schumacher, however, is not so sure that the team would do well to do so.
Schumacher: 'Piastri too big a risk for Alpine'
Schumacher believes Alpine would be better off with a more experienced driver like Alonso. He therefore calls it a risky option to bring Piastri to the team. "The pressure [on Alpine] is increasing. We are talking about a factory team that has been investing a lot of money in Formula One for years, but has not had enough success," the former Formula One driver told Sky Sports.
According to Schumacher, the French team needs a driver with experience and would not do well to sign a rookie. "As a young driver, he is too big a risk," the German added. Moreover, he expects Piastri to end up somewhere else in the end: Indeed, Schumacher predicts that the young talent is destined for McLaren.
