George Russell managed to pull off a surprise at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Briton secured pole position in qualifying, beating Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc.

It means the Mercedes driver can try to take victory in Hungary from the front on Sunday afternoon. He won't have an easy time of it though, as with Carlos Sainz and Leclerc right behind him, the task from the start is to keep the competition behind him.

Red Bull cannot be satisfied with Perez

Sergio Perez again disappointed in qualifying. The Mexican finished 11th on the grid and faces a tough task. Sebastian Vettel, who announced this week that he is retiring from Formula 1, will start from P19.
