The official confirmation of the partnership between Porsche and Red Bull Racing seems to be getting closer and closer. Christian Horner continued to reiterate that constructive talks are taking place, but also says that important acquisitions have already been made.
Has Red Bull already deployed its long-term strategy?
According to Red Bull's latest reports, the team's partnership with Porsche is as good as assured. Red Bull team principal Horner told Sky Sports that the team had already taken some of the steps necessary to establish the partnership. These seem to be steps that would not be taken if there was no commitment from both parties.
Horner said: "There is plenty of speculation and I have said numerous times that we are in the middle of constructive talks with Porsche. I think it would be very positive for Porsche to come into Formula 1. The first hurdle is the 2026 engine regulations. We have already made significant recruitments for Red Bull Powertrains with a view to announcements soon to follow."
It is possible that Red Bull has already embarked on a long-term strategy to transition the business structure surrounding the development of the current powerplant.
