On Wednesday, a disclosure obligation revealed that Porsche is taking over fifty per cent of the shares in Red Bull Racing's Formula One programme. The team of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez has issued a statement about the leaked document.

On Twitter, F1 journalist Erik van Haren shares Red Bull's statement: "As has been previously stated, the companies remain engaged in constructive discussions. We all are looking forward to the satisfactory finalisation of the FIA’s various sporting, financial and technical regulations for 2026."

Agreement on new rules

An agreement on the rules that will apply from 2026 has yet to be reached. According to Van Haren, that agreement seems to be near. The final blow may follow in August. Then, Red Bull and Porsche will finally announce their cooperation.

The original plan was to release the news about the cooperation around the Austrian Grand Prix, but because the approval of the new regulations was postponed, it was decided to save the announcement for a later moment.
