Results for Lewis Hamilton seem to be getting better and better as the 2022 Formula 1 season develops. In the French Grand Prix, Hamilton took second place after benefitting from Ferrari's mistakes.

Podiums

Hamilton now has four consecutive podiums to his name and for the first time was able to share the champagne celebrations with his new younger teammate George Russell. The seven-time World Champion highlighted how incredible the result was for Mercedes as they start to make gains on Ferrari in the constructors' championship.

"What a day. What a weekend. Especially missing FP1, I am proud of the team. Incredible result. We know we don't have the pace of the two teams ahead, but reliability is a huge fundamental part of the process. I am proud of my team, George did a great job as well," Hamilton told Sky Sports.

On high fuel, the Mercedes car can match or sometimes better than Red Bull and Ferrari. Hamilton wants to know why they are still missing pace in qualifying.

"We were nine-tenths off in qualifying. But for some reason, our race pace is a little bit better. I can't answer to why. I am grateful for that because that is the most important pace the majority of the time. We don't know why we came in this weekend and had a bigger gap. We weren't expecting that," Hamilton added.
