Charles Leclerc will start from pole position at the French Grand Prix. The Monegasque will need to be sharp at the start, however, as he is not expected to have an easy race with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez behind him.

Lewis Hamilton also did well in qualifying. The Briton was over four tenths slower than Perez, but his time was still enough to secure fourth place. Lando Norris secured fifth place by holding off George Russell.

Fernando Alonso, Yuki Tsunoda, Daniel Ricciardo and Esteban Ocon also finished in the top ten, making it six different teams at the front. Valtteri Bottas and Sebastian Vettel came up just short and must start from eleventh and twelfth respectively.

Grid penalty for Sainz and Magnussen

Carlos Sainz and Kevin Magnussen will have a challenge in the race. Both drivers have been penalised with a grid penalty due to engine changes, so they will have to start from the back of the grid to try and finish in the points.
