On Friday morning, news reached us that Carlos Sainz has had the electrical part of his engine replaced and that this will cost him ten grid places. However, it is possible that the current world championship number four will change more engine components and will start from the back of the grid in France.

Will Buxton, the presenter and interviewer of the official Formula 1 channel, spoke with Sainz after the second free practice. The Spaniard said that he believes it will be a very challenging Sunday. Sainz's face would have spoken volumes when Buxton mentioned that it was known so far that only one grid penalty will be taken.

It would not be the first time that Ferrari indicated earlier in the weekend that only one part of the engine had been replaced, only to announce on Saturday that more components had been replaced. This has already happened to Charles Leclerc in the Canadian Grand Prix in mid-June.
