Max Verstappen is a little fed up with all the political issues he has to take a stand on as a Formula 1 driver. He feels that the FIA has a bigger role to play than the drivers themselves.

In a short time Verstappen, like almost all Formula 1 drivers, was questioned about all kinds of issues outside the sport. When Verstappen does speak out he does so during the press conference, because that 'has more traction'. Outside of that, however, the questioning usually continues. "I don’t think that it’s only me who must speak up," Verstappen said according to Crash.net.

Verstappen thinks sport should do more

He continued: "If I had to speak up about everything in the world then I would be non-stop on social media. There is a place and a time. For the past year I feel like all I have spoken about is political stuff. At the end of the day, I’m a Formula 1 driver."

In this case, it was about the misbehaving fans in Austria and the measures taken against such behaviour. "They might be my fans, but they are also fans of the sport. So the sport must take action, not only the driver," said the reigning world champion.
