Verschoor's F2 victory in jeopardy: 'If that is the case I will really cry'

Richard Verschoor could not enjoy his victory in the Formula 2 main race for long. That victory appears to be in jeopardy now that it seems there was not enough fuel left in the tank.
F2 victory in jeopardy for Verschoor
The Dutchman had to report to the stewards at 13:41 to explain the 'not being able to provide a fuel sample of at least 0.8kg after the main race'. According to the latest reports, only 31.3 grams of fuel could be taken from the tank.
The race winner is already feeling the pinch, although he still hoped it was a hydraulic problem. "Definitely doubtful, if that is the case I will really cry. I can't do anything about it, but that would be really bad. I hope it is hydraulic, but it could also be fuel," Verschoor said in conversation with Viaplay.
Shortly after the finish Verschoor's Trident car stalled, which could indicate either an empty tank or a hydraulic problem. Given the call from the stewards, it seems the former is the case. In that case a disqualification will almost certainly follow, based on previous FIA decisions and the regulations, which are pretty black and white.
