British GP has a surprising GPblog Driver of the Day

Carlos Sainz managed to secure his first Formula 1 victory on Sunday afternoon. The Spaniard's performance was the most remarkable of the weekend, but it did not earn him the title of GPblog's Driver of the Day.

Sergio Perez received more votes than Sainz from our readers. The Mexican managed to drive from fourth position on the grid to second place, despite having to pit in the early stages due to damage to his car. He received a whopping 52 per cent of the vote, giving him a convincing win.

Lewis Hamilton took second place with 19 percent of the vote. The Brit managed to get a spot on the podium much to the home fans delight.

Leclerc and Verstappen share third place with 8 percent of the vote.
